Our Finance Model
| 🤍 | Why do you decide to fund your projects this way?We have all seen fandom zines and projects fall apart time and time again due to negligence. Whether it be on the part of mods, a finance person disappearing with money, or sites like Big Cartel and PayPal freezing the funds of a project, we do not want to put a project of ours in that situation at all.| 🤍 | Who are the mods in charge of finance, and how can we ensure that they will be using funds correctly?The main finance mod for our projects is Shinii, but he is not the only mod with access to the zine financial accounts. Transparency is available for our contributors every step of the way, through not only the ability to request a screenshot of current account holdings at any point, but also through detailed and meticulous accounting in a specific discord channel available for view by participants. During sales periods, our totals will be updated frequently so that contributors are never left in the dark about where the project is financially.| 🤍 | How will the zine be funded without a preorder period?The answer is that our mods will be paying for all production costs. We’ll be purchasing the merch up front from the funds already placed in the zine account and saving receipts in the fully visible channel for contributors to see. This will ensure that the project will go through even if breakeven is not reached. Mods are fully aware that they may not recoup their fronted monies.| 🤍 | How will contributors be compensated?Contributors will have the option to receive a full bundle for whichever project they are a part of, even if breakeven price has not been reached. Any profits will be split between all contributors and mods evenly. Our projects also operate with a Guaranteed Minimum Payout for all our contributors, which means that there is a certain amount that each contributor is guaranteed to recieve as part of their monetary compensation. This number is accounted for in the amount saved by the mods as they budget and plan, and is also dependant upon the project that contributors participate in.| 🤍 | How does the mod team budget and keep track of finances?The mod team will be keeping meticulous google sheets records, as well as paper copies of receipts and uploads of said receipts to a drive that all mods can access. Contributors will have access to a discord channel where all current accounting and projections are done. Buyers will be kept up to date with tracking numbers and fast shipped packages! Since we’re direct to sales, that means that when you buy we will already have it in house and ready to ship!
